It is advisable to carry out an anti-scratch treatment .

If used in potentially humid environments such as kitchens or bathrooms, a treatment with water and oil repellent is recommended tile flooring in Bethlehem, PA.

Slate hardly stains, so for daily cleaning it is sufficient to use a cloth moistened with water.

We recommend periodically cleaning the floor with specific products which must be absolutely neutral.

Periodically it is possible to polish the floor with specific products or with wax for marble or other natural stones.

We take into account that polishing the floor, as well as that of marble , makes the stone more beautiful, but it also has the property of keeping dust and dirt away, making it easier to clean the floor itself.

Clean slate floor with natural products

If we want to clean the floor with natural and “household” products, we can create a solution of water, pink alcohol and bicarbonate.

If desired, you can add a drop of liquid dish detergent or rub a damp sponge on the Marseille soap and then squeeze it into the bucket where we have prepared the solution.

The dosage is very important

Excess baking soda or soap could leave stains on the floor. So let’s remember that the recommended doses for a liter of water are: a teaspoon of baking soda and a quarter of a glass of alcohol. Now, what do we do if the floor is stained or has encrustations ?Where the floor is stained, you have to rub the stains with fine salt and alcohol, then wash with dish soap.

To remove encrustations (especially limescale) you need to rub the affected part with the usual Marseille soap , or with dish detergent with a little bicarbonate of soda.

Probably if you do a good job and manage to remove the patina of dirt, you will notice that the treated area will be lighter than the rest of the floor, but you don’t have to worry about this, in a few days the floor will return to being uniform and elegantly shining like the usual.
